Well hello Pluto: New Horizons probe approaches dwarf planet after travelling 4.8bn km – BBC News



The New Horizons probe has almost reached Pluto after travelling three billion miles (4.8 billion km) over a period of 10 years.
The spaceship is flying past the dwarf planet at 30,000mph, gathering information about the edge of the Solar System.
